Gods among us-part XXXIII

 "Well, once the citizen of our planet reach a certain age, and to answer to your question after this age, we just stop to grow, if they would like to, they can go to the children room. In this room, they lets say design a baby, a child, they choose the characteristics,  the appearance of the baby and the machine makes it all. That’s why my mother is my father’s sister. Since they were created by the same parents, and from the same machine. Everything happens in this machine, it’s called the electrical uterus."

Anna stood up and started walking up and down the room.

"You guys don’t make love?"

"We do, but we are barren. So our women can't became pregnant."

"And you make love with your siblings?"

"Technically, we are not siblings. We were ideas of the same people."

Anna was looking at him not being able to understand or believe him.

"Ok" she said. "Continue. I remember reading about the gods in ancient Greece at some point but I don’t remember a lot."

Mark realized that she was open to hear what he had to say.

"After putting the titans away and of course my father as well, the planet earth was under our protection. We knew that my father will come again so we needed to have a kind of a cover. At the beginning, we didn’t. The Greeks adored us, and we helped them a lot as well. We gave part of our technology, our knowledge. Everything was really good. Until a certain point that we realized that we were losing ground. The religions came into our lives, and the people lost their faith. Wars, battles, disasters everything that could go wrong went. This is when we decided to come back using a human body. Our bodies, look a lot like yours but we are taller than you, our eyes glow and we are surrounded by a light. If humans see the real us, they will either get blind or even die. For this reason, we needed to be able to be around people without being recognized. Therefore, we choose a family, and we enter into the baby’s body. Once we do that, our previous memories erased in order to help the healthy development of the baby."

"And when does the memories come back?"

"It depends. Usually, my brother Poseidon remembers first and he starts looking for the rest of us."

"Pos what?"

"Poseidon, he is the god of the sea. He can control the water."

"Rain as well?"

"No no, that’s me."

Anna just felt tired. She sat in the chair and touched her forehead.

"OK" she said with a tired voice. "Continue."

"As I was saying, my brother, once he remembers, tries to find the rest of us. He has to be careful since the memories need to come back to us on their own."

"OK." Anna said with a low voice.

"I am the last to remember. So far at least."

"I want to see you."

Mark looked at her confused.

"What you mean?"

"I want to see the real you. I want to see the king of Gods."

"My name is Zeus."

"Whatever. I want to see you."

"I am afraid that this is not possible."

"Why not?"

"As I told you before, humans can’t see us without going blind after, or even die."

Anna was looking at him suspicious.

"Oh come on, there has to be a spell you can put to protect me." Anna said looking suspicious at him. "What kind of a God are you if you can't do that?" She said ironically. 

"This is not how it goes." Mark said calmly.  

Anna looked at him in disbelief. 

"Then I want to meet the rest." She said and crossed her hands in frond of her chest.

"Anna…" he said with a pleading voice.

"No, I still don’t believe a word you’re saying, so I need to meet the rest of...of the Gods!"

Mark stayed quite for a few minutes looking at his hands.

"So? Can I meet them?"

Mark sighed. Damn, he thought.

"Let me see what I can do." He said and left the room.
