Gods among us-part XL

Mark woke up the next morning with a headache. He looked next to him and realized that Nora was not there. He heard a noise coming from downstairs. He stood up and went in the shower.
Nora on the other hand was nervous. She barely slept last night. She kept looking at Mark sleeping so peacefully and wanted to scream. How could he sleep? She thought. She put the coffee in the table and took a slice of bread with butter and honey.
Mark came downstairs and found her on the table taking breakfast. She raised her eyes and looked at him.
"Good morning" she said.
"Good morning" he whispered and took a sit.
They continued having breakfast in silence.

At Anna's place.
Anna opened her eyes and looked at Mark’s bedside. She touched it. It felt cold. She immediately felt the loneliness surrounding her. It's over she thought.
JJ was in the kitchen when she heard the shower. She's up she thought. She started preparing the coffee and breakfast.
Anna came downstairs looking tired even though she had just waken up.
"You're up" JJ said smiling to her.
Anna forced herself to smile and stayed quite.
She took a sip of coffee. She was not really hungry.
"Are you ready now to tell me what happened after we left?" JJ asked.
Anna looked at her and she felt her eyes getting wet.
"Honestly JJ, I don't know what to tell you. You guys left, he had already told me that he'd like to tell me something..."
"Oh my god!" JJ interrupted her. "That's why he was behaving weird during dinner"
"I guess so" Anna said. " Anyway, as I was saying, he said that he wanted to talk to me, we sat in the sofa and he just said that he'd like to break up with me. I asked if there's another woman in his life, he denied it but I don't believe him."
"Do you think it's this woman from the party? The one he danced with?"
Anna looked away.
"Yes" she said.
"Hmm..." JJ said. "Did he give you a reason for breaking up?"
"He's crazy" Anna said. "Just crazy. He said that his destiny is to save the world and for that he needs to break up with me."
Oh my god he remembered!!! Shoot!
"Save the world?" JJ asked trying to sound as calm as she could.
Anna nodded.
"I'm telling you he's crazy..."
Oh he's not, she thought.
"What else did he tell you?" JJ asked.
"Just this. Oh and that he's a God, how stupid is this? I mean I've heard lots of excuses of people breaking up but this one tops all."
JJ was listening carefully.
"Yes, it's crazy. But why he told you that?"
"I guess because I didn't let go. I kept saying that it's this woman from the party, that she is the reason. He said that I won't understand even if he explained and then I pushed him and he came up with this God thing."
"I see." JJ said and stood up. "I'll be right back. Mother nature is calling" said smiling.
She left the room and texted Niko: "He remembered. He said to Anna that he's God." She put her phone back in her pocket and went to the bathroom.

At Nora's place.
Mark and Nora were taking breakfast in quite.
Suddenly Mark's phone rung.
Mark took a look on it and saw Niko's name blinking on the screen.
"Hi Niko" he answered looking at Nora.
Nora raised her eyes and looked at Mark.
He put him on loudspeaker.
"What have you done bro?" Niko asked immediately.
"What you mean?" Marked asked back.
"Don't play the fool to me. I asked you if there is something going on with this Nora girl and you said no."
Nora looked surprised.
"At the moment that you had asked me there was nothing between us." Mark explained.
"And now?"
"Now..." He looked at Nora. Nora nodded.
"Now we are together"
"Does Anna knows that?"
"I denied that there is another woman but she didn't believe me."
"Fool." Niko said
Nora looked at the phone. What the heck she thought.
Mark was calm.
"If you call to make me feel bad I will stop you here and tell you that I haven't regret it. The story with Anna had to end last year. When I found out that she cheated on me."
Nora looked at Mark. Wow, she thought. Finally someone cheated on Zeus.
"I thought you forgave her for that."
"I did but something broke inside"
"Mark? What did you tell her? What was the reason for breaking up?"
Mark looked at Nora and she stood up.
"I just told her that I wanted to break up with her. She didn't took it very well."
"Nothing else? Like no crazy stories?"
Nora turned her head at Mark. Mark looked at her worried.
"What you mean?"
"She said to JJ that you told her that you're God and that your destiny is to save the world. "
Nora took a deep breath and gave Mark a deadly look whilst Mark was looking at her apologetically.
"Niko, I'm in love with someone else and she was not let it go. I didn't want to say that to her so..."
"So you lied to her"
"In a way, Mark said. I had to say something "
"And you said this stupid thing to her?"
"I admit it's stupid" Mark said always looking at Nora.
"JJ thinks it's a good idea to meet the 4 us."
"I don't think this is what Anna wants."
"I'll talk with both and I will call you back." Niko said and hung up the phone.
"Do you understand now why I was against that? Anna said to JJ and JJ to Niko" she said looking outside.
Mark stood up and moved closer to he. She hugged her from behind and kiss her on the neck.
"Don't worry about them." he said.
"Don't trust them" she said. "I don't have a good feeling about those two."
"Don't worry, he said again. I know Niko my whole life. I missed you" he whispered in her ear.
Nora turned her face to his and kissed him softly.
"Still angry" she said and he smiled.
