Gods among us-part XXXVIII

Mary was explaining what happened at Anna’s place and had their attention.

"Basically she never saw you right?" Alex asked.

Mary nodded.

"Yes, she never saw us. It was not needed. She was devastated and in denial."
"Can you blame her?" Sarah said. "She thinks that he is crazy."
"Yes, she kept repeating that all she wants is the truth." Mary said.
Nora finally stood up and went closer to the rest. Mark came in the room at the same time.
"What did you tell her?" Nora asked Mary.
"I told her that he is telling her the truth." 
Nora looked at Mark.
"Can you realize how dangerous this was?" She said all serious.
Mark was looking at her with sad eyes.
"I can and I apologize to all of you." He said.
"Apologizing is not enough" Nora said.
"Mother is really angry" Alex whispered to Kevin. Kevin took a deep breath.
"I am too" he said quietly.
"We all are" Alex said.
"What do you want me to say?" Mark raised his voice. "I can't change what I did. I know that I put all of you in danger and I'm sorry for that but I can't undone what I did."
Nora was starring him down and her eyes started to glow.
"Oh no." Phil said.
James touched Nora’s shoulder.
"Not now" he said forcing her to look at him. Her eyes turned to normal and she nodded at him.
She left the room with her slow typical walk.
"The Queen is angry" Amy said.
"For sure" Tony commented. "I haven't seen her that angry for a while."
Mark was looking on the floor.
"Hey, James said, are you ok?"
"No, Mark said. I know that I let you guys down and I will try not to do it again."
"Just make sure that no one else will learn about us" Sarah said.
Mark nodded.
"Should I go to Nora?"
"NO" Mary, Amy, Sarah, Kate and Lilly said with one voice.
"OK OK I won't" Mark said.
"Not now, Mary said. Give her some time."

JJ found Anna sleeping. Poor thing she thought. If I get him in my hands...
Anna opened her eyes and looked at her.
"JJ? What are u doing here? How did you get in?" Anna asked.
"I used the spare key hidden in the flower pots. Hope you don't mind."
"No that's OK. But why are you here?"
"Mark called" JJ said and Anna started crying again.
JJ sat next to her and was touching lightly her hair.
"He broke up with me" Anna said crying
"I know" JJ said "Shhh everything is fine."
They stayed there for another 20 minutes in silence 
JJ stood up.

"Come on. I'll prepare something to eat, we can drink wine and you can explain everything to me."
Anna whipped away her tears.
"Yes" she said.
JJ kissed her on her cheek and went downstairs. She grabbed her phone and texted to Niko:
"I just got her to get out of bed. I'll stay with her tonight. I will find out more soon."
Niko texted her back immediately:
"OK, once you can, inform me as well."

At Nora's place.
Nora was in her bedroom looking outside. She was still upset with everything that happened today. How stupid can he be? She thought. Saying to Anna the truth? How can we be sure that she will not expose us?
"I bet I know what you think" Amy said and walked in the room.
Nora took a deep breath and stayed quite.
Amy went closer to her.
"Mark is really sad and he regretted what he did. Nora do you hear me?"
"I do" she said.
"I know things can't change but at least he realized his mistake."
Nora looked at her.
"How can we be sure that she will not expose us?"
"We can't but Mary said that she didn't believe anything on what Mark said so I don't think that she will say this to anyone."
"It's not about believing or not. We know that two of the Titans are on earth. You know they are looking on us. What if one of them is close to Anna and she trust them with Mark's story? Even if she makes it sounds that he is crazy. If one of our relatives is the listener they will know its not crazy at all."
Amy was listening to her carefully.
"You're right" she said. "Let me talk with Mark about that." She turned and left the room.
Nora turned back on her window looking outside in the garden. The clock is ticking she thought...
