Gods among us-part XLI

 Niko arrived at Anna's place. He was in frond of the door but he couldn't ring the bell. He remembered  he kept thinking. Now everything will be different. The sun was hitting in his face and he looked up in the sky.  Soon my love, he thought, soon will be together in our planet. I just need to get rid of this stupid woman and I will come back to you and our family. He finally rung the bell. JJ opened the door and hugged him immediately.

"There you are" she said. "I thought you'd never come." JJ said and hugged him. He put his arms around her as well but his mind was travelling to his family back in his planet.

"How is Anna?" He asked.

"A mess." she said and they walked inside the house. They saw Anna sitting on the couch with her knees on her chest.

"Look who's here." JJ said.

Anna raised her eyes and saw Niko smiling at her.

"Hi" she said tired.

Niko took a sit next to her.

"Hi. How are you?"

"OK I guess" she said.

"He is an idiot Anna. A fool"

"I know" Anna said.

JJ touched Niko's shoulder.

"Come" she whispered and they went to the kitchen.

A few days later... The news about Anna's and Mark's break up spread in the office very quickly. Everyone was talking about them. 

"Have you heard? What am I asking of course you heard, everyone knows!" Pauline said to Nora.

"Know what?" she asked.

"About Mark's and Anna's break up" Jennifer said and get another sip of her pie.

"Yes I heard" Nora answered.

"What do you think happened? Oh my God, do you think that they break up because of you?" Pauline said looking at Nora.

"Why would you say something like that? There is nothing going on between Mark and me" Nora answered.

"Oh come on Nora, we were all there, at the summer party. We all saw you, we all saw how he was looking at you, how he still looks at you everytime you are in the same room." Pauline said.

Nora looked at them.

"There is nothing going on between us" she said calmly. "Yes we flirt, and yes we may flirt now as well, but that's all."

"Hmm"Jennifer said."This is how it starts"

Nora looked at both but stayed quite. 

"Come on" Pauline said. "We need to hurry if we want to make it to the meeting on time".

They stood up and start walking towards the meeting room. On their way, the run into Anna. Anna looked at Nora with hate in her eyes. Nora didn't pay attention to her. Jennifer caught Anna’s glance looking at Nora. 

"Look" she said to Pauline "look the way that Anna is looking at Nora." Pauline nodded. 

They entered the room and they sat. The presenter started the presentation and everyone were paying attention. Suddenly, the presentation frozen and a message came through the screen:

"WE ARE COMING!"

They were all looking at each other. "What's that?" They were saying to each other.

"Please excuse us, apparently there are some technical issues. We need to call IT". Explained the presenter and dialed the IT's number. 

Nora frowned. This is for us, they know that I am here, they are here she thought. She took her mobile and texted to the others:" they found us. They are here"
